DICK ALLEN has been a friend of mine since the early 80's when I met him while playing some classic Country shows in Texas. I was playing with Roy Head and Dick would usually be closing the shows . His normal band wouldn't make all the shows so I got a chance to play with him [usually with Johnny Bush's or Dean Scott's band].These shows had too many artists to name here but included Johnny Gimble , B.J.Thomas , Johnny Bush, the Gatlin Brothers , Willie , etc . many of which I got to play with but it was DICK ALLEN who really taught me how to play Country and Blues. I started working with him fulltime 10 years later including one 'house' job in Houston that lasted almost 5 years.

Dick has been a songwriter as well as
a singer , bass player , guitarist [also
piano , harmonica , mandolin ] all his life and has written some great songs .
His 70's band DICK ALLEN & THE RIVERROAD BOYS recorded and played
everywhere in the 70's . Dick along with
Gary
[Capt.TooHigh]
Zaludek [ President ] formed Thz Records .
He was elected into the Lonestar State Country
Music Hall of Fame several years ago and has over
100 songs in his
portfolio. You can contact him through this site as I still see him
almost everyday. He moved up here to the north Woodslands tx area.
