ALBATROSS
was a band that was started by a bunch of good friends fresh out of high
school [1972] with
only one purpose -- to play music. Money wasn't an issue as we would
play for free if we didn't have a job. Through the early 70's we played
the
Texas dancehall circuit
as well as most of Texas. As the 70's went on we started playing the
bigger rock club circuit and soon were doing a lot of opening acts .
After we had been together for a decade MTV came along and we were
playing shows every week . While on the road in Oklahoma we found that
we were in
Circus Magazine listed
with a then young
Aerosmith . We had 2
minor video runs on the then infant
MTV.
The band never officially broke up -- we just didn't book any jobs for a
couple of years . We would all do other projects and then every 5 or 6
years book a reunion show [ just to play together - not for the money] .
The
original members are :
Keith York -drums
Keith's Web Page
Robert Rose -keyboards
Don Hutchko - guitar
Plus a cast of almost
100 other players - spread out over 16 years . We had a lot of great
talent pass thru the band and I'm going to try to post a complete
list the 1st chance
I get . Singer
Warren Archer who was
later on MTV and now C&W singer
BB Watson
who had videos on CMT sang with us .
